Did we blink? 2016 is gone and 2017 is here to stay. Boy, did that go by fast! With a new year comes new beginnings and a chance to have a fresh start.
When thinking of resolutions for the new year, as a society, we tend to focus on surface intentions, like getting more sleep or crushing a fitness goal. What about your career goals and happiness? “The percentage of U.S. workers in 2015 who Gallup considered engaged in their jobs averaged 32%. The majority (50.8%) of employees were “not engaged,” while another 17.2% were “actively disengaged.” stated a 2015 Gallup poll.
Are you engaged in your job? Have you been wanting to break out of your comfort zone and find a new company, a new position or an entirely new industry? Perhaps you are a recent college student who is looking to find your place in the professional world. Whatever your career goals are this new year, ultimately being healthy and happy is of the utmost importance.
The tech industry is on the rise and Dom & Tom is growing at a rapid rate! In 2016 we had 65% growth, expanded our New York and Chicago offices and branched out to Los Angeles. What could possibly be better than starting off a brand new year with a brand new job? In our ever-growing Chicago office, we are currently hiring a project manager for Accelerate, a separate division within Dom & Tom that operates as its own entity. Accelerate is looking for someone with experience with client-focused solutions and the ability to think on their feet while executing multiple projects. Interested? Check out the full position here.
In our dynamic New York City office, we are eager to add a project manager and visual designer to our team. For the project manager role, we are looking for someone with great problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. The visual design role calls for working closely with our Director of Design. This position requires someone with great leadership skills, a creative vision, and the ability and experience to work on the branding side of our visual products.
A few potential future roles to look out for this year are junior to mid-level web developers, a mid-level mobile developer, a senior creative designer, a senior UX designer role and an account manager/strategist that may be available at any of our 3 offices.
One thing to remember about the tech industry is that you don’t have to just be a mobile or web developer to work in this field. We regularly have open positions in operations, marketing, strategy and even have an internship program available in the summer. Last year, we had interns specializing in human resources, design, and software engineering.
At Dom & Tom, our clients and products are just as important as our employees. We are a close-knit group who fully subscribe to the cliche “work hard, play hard.” What makes our company great? Oh, where to begin… fun travel opportunities, company parties and outings, biannual Olympic games, monthly charity pairings, and awesome perks like unlimited sick and vacation days. The list can go on, but mostly, we all really like and respect each other.
